Greenstone Doors

Greenstone Doors provides compassionate support through every stage of the pregnancy journey, including pregnancy counselling, fertility support, pregnancy loss and post-termination counselling, parenting support, playgroups, an "Aunties" support network, and programmes for men. They also offer a safe, nurturing maternal mental health space called Korowai House, a respite home service where māmā can rest, heal, and reconnect in a supportive environment.

Screening During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, you will be offered screening tests by your midwife or doctor to check that you and your pēpi are healthy. These screening tests are your choice. Your midwife (or specialist doctor) will give you information and support to help you decide whether to have screening or not. Screening may include:

  • Antenatal blood tests

  • Urine screening

  • Ultrasound scans

  • Diabetes tests

  • Antenatal screening for Down syndrome and other conditions

  • STI testing

  • Family violence risk assessment.
